MAGNETOMETER
SURVEY ON THE "MUTERA" A magnetometer survey was carried out on a man made hill near the little town of Oderzo, 25 km far from Venice. Until the 60's,it was possible to see many little hills in the country, called "Mutera" by the inhabitans. According to the most common opinion some of these little hills could be tumuli, military defensive structures, sites dedicated to cult and astronomical observations. As it is possible to see in the 3-D map, the main result is represented by two very clear and intense magnetic anomalies marked A and B, ubicated approximately on the top of the hill. The archaeological excavation proved that the very strong magnetic anomaly A and the less one B were produced by a Roman Age kiln and by its manifacture discards respectively. Thanks to the results of the magnetic survey, the "Mutera" was declared of archaeological interest and then preserved from destruction. |

MAGNETOMETER SURVEY ON A
ROMAN AGE SITE AT THE VILLAGE OF TEOR A magnetometer survey was carried out on an area where remains of archaeological interest were found during agricultural works. Owing to a lot of briks and fired clay , archaeologists deduced the possible presence of buried kilns. The final result of the survey is shown in the 2-D and 3-D maps of the magnetic anomalies where three very intese anomalies, signed A, B and C are clearly visible. Anomalies A and B were later investigated by a trench, revealing the presence of two Roman Age kilns. The other anomaly C was not verified, but it is suspected to be a kiln too. |

MAGNETOMETER SURVEY ON A
BRONZE AGE SETTLEMENT AT TERRANIGRA The magnetic survey was carried out on a Bronze Age Paleovenetian settlement. The magnetic dipolar anomaly "A" clearly visible in both contour and surface maps is originated by a fireplace. |

ROMAN VILLA RUSTICA AT THE VILLAGE OF S. VITO ( NORTH EASTERN ITALY ) The presence of underground archaeological structures was suspected by a large amount of little remains, pieces of brick and mosaic come to light during the agricultural work. A magnetic survey on an area of approximately 2400 square metres allowed to find the existence of a building, whose walls aligned in north south direction are clearly identifiable in 2 D and 3 D maps of the magnetic fields anomalies. |
