ARCHAEOSURVEY has carried out
for over seventeen years non-destructive geophysical
surveys emploing the most modern and effective methods
(magnetometer, resistivity and radar surveys) in archaeological field evaluation.
Thanks to geophysical methods, it is possible
to detect the underground presence of structures such us
walls, foundations, floors, roads, kilns, hearths, tombs, graves,
pits cavities, mounds and filled ditches. Geophysical methods allow to draw an
"archaeological map" of the underground.
This mapping has a double
function: it indicates to archaeologists the exact
location where excavation has to be made, and it can
provide the criteria for proper land planning.
The location of archeological sites can be used as a guide for
politicians, administrators and town planners in
carrying out territorial projects,
avoiding the risk to destroy important remains from the past.
All the maps shown here are representative of surveys carried out by ARCHAEOSURVEY.
